I bought a resonably priced decanter because it looked cool, now I'm trying to decide if I want to use it? I get that the vessel is sub post to 'decant' and is normally used for wines, but I've seen some high end singles come in a decanter.

So what I'm really getting at, what are there and pro and cons of a decanter?

Decanters are fine as long as they do not contain lead crystal. If they are crystal they need to be non lead type.
