@JoeVelo Your experience matches the pour list posted some days ago:
Other than their standard three and an annual release Ardbeg's been pretty quiet. Can't say I'm unhappy with that. I'd rather see them stick to a few good ones for now than pull Macallan's latest color-wheel marketing trick. I'm in hopes they have something looming that will knock our socks off, another 17 perhaps.?.?

@JoeVelo Actually it's funny that you mention that as I'm sort of in the same boat. I love Ardbeg, but I'd really like to see another expression released as part of their standard range as opposed to a release once a year that everyone hypes up and may or may not live up to expectations, especially since these bottles tend to easily hit $150 or more per bottle.
Personally I'm currently really anti Glengoyne due to the experience that my wife, my brother and in laws and myself had at the distillery. Easily the most expensive tour and the tour where we wound up walking away with the least fun. Ever since then all of us who were on the tour, whisky geeks some of us, whisky novices for the rest, whenever we hear about Glengoyne we all just sort of grumble, especially after their VERY half hearted apology which stated they were in the wrong, but took no steps to fix the problem. I've had a few great Glengoyne drams since then thanks to some very good friends, but man the name just makes me want to grind my teeth which does upset me.
However that literally would have to be the only distillery that I'm genuinely unhappy with their products/services.

visited the glengoyne distillery too, didn't do the tour, as I was already behind on schedule for my first day on the West Highland Way, as I arrived three hours to late at the start in Milngavie. However, by just asking the shopkeeper I got a taste of the teapot dram, the 15 and 18 yo, so I can't complain about their service

@Pandemonium Hahaha that was part of our problem :D We spent 125 pounds per person to have the special tasting of the drams, etc only to be informed that they needed to get the bottles back to the shop as they'd be needed back there immediately. So that coupled with our blending our own whisky comprised 8 yr old super market single malts (which couldn't be named) cheap grain whisky and 10 yr old Glengoyne left us wondering what exactly did our 125+ pounds per person bought for us.
If we'd done the free tour we would have been much happier, we could have tried all of the special distillery bottlings, and each of us would have had enough cash left over to purchase another full bottle of whisky!

I studied the list before going but I was expecting some surprises like Ardbog maybe. @two-bit-cowboy

I had the chance to be at WhiskyFest NY last week-end. I could meet and talk to Richard Paterson, Jim McEwan and David Stewart. I could drink a lot of their premiums since I had a VIP ticket (seems everyone in the room had one). But at the Ardbeg table, you could only sample 10, Corry and Uigeadail. I was very disappointed at them and waited to let you know. Are you disappointed with products a distillery have to offer right now?
