Hi there!! As I am starting to explore a life long journey in to Scotch whiskies, I notice there are unique characters to scotch from different regions. Eventually I would like to have had enough scotches to have a favorite whisky for each regions. Basically your faves will be sort of a recommendations for me to go by, rather than jumping into it blindly (I know, I know... everyones opinions and palates vary) What is your fav scotch from each different regions??

From my limited experience with Scotch, these are my faves.

Speyside: Aberlour a'bunadh Islay: Ardbeg Uigeadail Island: Highland Park 18/Talisker 18 Highland: Glendronach 15 Revival Lowland: Have not tried yet Campbeltown : Have not tried yet

@WHSKYLVR springbank is on top of my list for my next scotch. Thinking of getting the 18yr expression, but I've read some reviews that says 18yr is not worth the price jump from the 15yr. Hmmm

@abunadhMatada Haven't had the 18 Year, but the 10 year is good but I like the CV a bit more. I think the Campbeltown and Lowland whiskies are the most overlooked...

@PeatyZealot Auchentoshan is subtle, but you might have blown out your taste buds with the Caol Ila 18!

@WHSKYLVR Haha that could be it! I didn't see you had it as your favourite :p I drank the Auchentoshan in a bar (in a tumbler...) and the bottle wasn't so full; who knows how long it has been there catching light and oxygen... Very interested in Campeltown Scotch, the Longrow is the peated one isnt it? But I also heard some good things about Springbank and that it is a truely old fashioned distillery; I like that:)

@PeatyZealot Yeah Longrow is the peated version of Springbank, good stuff. I can't give you a hard time, I could drink only Caol Ila / Bruichladdich / or Kilchoman and still be a happy camper!
