The last of my forgotten notes from last October, this was another purchased sample.

I should note: I don't keep great track of the color of drams, so, for something this long ago, I have no idea what it looked like and am not bothering to move the color option (in case anybody cares or wonders.)

Nose: Very winey. A fine orange-cherry liqueur. Dates, figs, and some milk-chocolate. Violets. There's a plump raisin quality and very light wood. Licorice, with a pinch of cinnamon and cardamom. It's a well-balanced and delightful nose. There's something between a clean swimming pool with chlorine and a dried apricot slice soaked in a young rum. Fortunately I like the latter.

Palate: A slight plastic quality (the final note on the nose?) and more wood, but nothing overmuch. It's still punchy with fruit. Dates, raisins, figs, and some fiesty alcohol, which falls out of step at the mid-palate. More burned orange zest and almost marmalade. Lots of excellent layered fruit.

Finish: The wood comes out more here and is slightly drying, almost like licking the inside of an apple cider barrel. Faint strawberry preserves, honey, flower petals, and more liqueur, all tannic and drying. Light, bright, and vivid fruits. Alcohol is still a bit off, but the fruit is exciting, nervous, and, most importantly, delicious.

Hmph. I used to take better notes, apparently.
