I've seen a couple of reviews for this, calling it a good value for money. I'm of two minds, not having tasted it. It reminds me of my recent experience with SOLAN. That was 30 dollars (tax in) in Calgary and (my old whisky club buddies be damned) I thought it wasn't bad for that price.
Thing is, if you're going to have a daily sipper, that you can drink without using (or losing...;) ) too many brain cells, then as long as you like it, go ahead. Doesn't really matter what other think.
On the other hand, if you are a less frequent enjoyer of malt, as I am, I prefer to go for better quality each time...life being too short.
That doesn't mean expensive. quality and price are not synonymous. I would just as soon reach for OGD 114 ($20USD) as Springbank CS, depending on my mood. And I'd pick either of those over Johnnie Walker Blue on a normal day.

@Nozinan I too enjoy better quality drams. Last night opened with a Glendower 8 then chased that down with an A'bunadh batch 52. As Ralfy says "The A'bunadh worked a treat". I can't really afford to drink $100 bottles all the time. I don't see the Glendower available at most online or provincial sites that I frequent but was wondering what other connosrs thought of the Glendower if they had tried it. I too think of it as "good value for the money" thanx for your thoughts. Jonesz

Have never noticed any mention of this Blended Malt here on Connosr. Just wondering if I am the only one who has tried it. It sates on the label 8 YO, 43% ABV, all Highland malts and bottled by John MacLaren & Sons. In my never ending search for an affordable "OK cheaper" daily go to that I can enjoy without using too many brain cells, I came across this one and tried it. While I agree that it is indeed a young whisky I find it to be very drinkable and in my books ranks right up with Livet or Fiddich 12's. Has anyone else on here tried this blended malt and if so what are you thoughts. Hopefully some closet Glendower drinkers will come forward and admit to drinking this relatively inexpensive dram. It sells for $36.92 plus tax here in Manitoba. Jonesz
