Glengoyne 12 Year Old

This is my first review, so I thought I'd start with something simple. I bought this bottle when I wanted something completely different from all the peated and smokey whiskies I had bought. So this was it and I was pleasantly surprised.

Nose: Vanilla, malt, little bit of citrus and coconut, caramel

Body: Oily, thick

Taste: Soft, sweet, vanilla, honey, sweet pastry.

Finish: (Again) sweet, medium long, soft, but I don't think that after ten minutes you'll still taste anything important.

All in all I was pleasantly surprised for a first trip in new tastes. I've since tasted more, but I still think it's a nice whisky to just enjoy.
