Strong nose of sugared plums and sherry along with hints of vanilla, cedar, citrus, caramel and anise. Unpeated.

Sweet and slightly sharp on the tongue, giving way to a warm, mellow mouth feel.

Are you a hard grader? How does this compare to Aberlour A'budunadh for instance in your rating scale?

Howdy

I had to boot up my old laptop to dig out my review of A'bunadh, but that gives me an excuse to post that and some of my other older reviews on here. :-)

I gave the A'bunadh an 85, but judging from other reviews, I may have gotten my sample from a less than ideal batch (unfortunately I did not write down which batch it was). For further comparison, I gave the Macallan sherry cask a 70 (I am not a fan of most of their bottlings, but I did squirrel away a bottle of cask strength on many vehement recommendations before it was discontinued) and have yet to try my sample of Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or.

Hope this helps!
