I haven't had the Aderlour 16, but I can say that the 'livet 18 is very good.

I never had the Glenlivet 18 yr, but I do have the Aberlour 16 yr, and I must say it's a fine dram!

But seriously, that's a hard question to answer. It depends on what you're looking for in your next malt, more sophistication or just more sherry?

I am drinking a laphroaig quarter cask. I'm looking for a different path than peat and smoke.

Haven't tried the Aberlour 16 yet, but the Aberlour 18 is absolutely lovely. But why not the Aberlour A'bunadh? No peat, plenty of sherry and less expensive than the 18.
This will be my recommendation: A'bunadh!

My two cents buy the Aberlour 16 or as Fons says Aberlour A'bunadh (but not batch 41). I am not a fan of the Glenlivet range 12, 15, or 21, never tried the 18yr. Enjoy whatever you buy.

I'd skip both and get the cast strength Aberlour A'bunadh, or the Glenlivet 16 yr old cast strength Nadurra! Save money, get better Scotch whisky!

@MacBaker62 Totally with you on that one! A'bunadh is a marvelous dram.
