This Glenlossie was bottled by Berry Bros & Rudd, an indie. It's from the 'Berry’s own selection’ range, a cask strength from cask 7061. The Glenlossie distillery was founded near Elgin in 1876. In 1971 the Mannochmore distillery was built in the same complex. Glenlossie is consider top class among blenders, including Haig.

The nose is very intense and very sweet. It reminds me of orange marmalade or tinned mandarines. It also contains red apples, some sherry notes and a whiff of vanilla.

The delivery is rather prickly (due to the high ABV), but it does not require water. After the initial attack, he becomes silky soft. He remains sweet, but the promise of the nose is not delivered upon.

The finish is somewhat shorter than expected, but still medium, but nicely warm.

This was a pleasant surprise with a wonderful nose. Almost (but not quite) as good as the Glenlossie 10 Year Old from Murray McDavid I tasted before. But still very good. A delicate Speysider.
