It is my pleasure to introduce a glenrothes of 9 yo, which is bottled by the Creative Whisky Company. It reminds of a song by Merle Haggard " It is not love but it is not bad". No, it is not bad at all. It is pretty good, actually.

The Creative Whisky Company specialises in Exclusive, single cask, single malt whiskies. Each and every bottling is from one cask; sometimes less than 100 bottles, sometimes as many as 600. This company has distributors all over the world including the USA.

This is a single malt which has a port finish. It reminds me of the Amrut Portonova. It can be bought for 50 euro. ( us $ 56 ).

I am fond of big flavors and this one delivers.

Its nose is sweet. Mocha. Caramel. Tangerine.

Its palate is rich and sweet. Black berries. Cherries. Red Grapes. Milk Chocolate.Caramel. Hazelnuts. Syrup. Some oriental spicyness.

Its finish is rich and sweet again. Cherries. Caramel. Syrup. Chocolate and some spyciness.

It is 90 points in my book. Do you have try this one before you die ? Well, it is an impressive experience. Just like Elvin Bishop sings " Fooled Around And Fell In Love". Sometimes you cannot hide from the truth. No, not possible.

Yum. Sounds like the port did its job!

@NamBeist , when you say they bottle "exclusive" whiskies, do you just mean that they don't split casks with other bottlers?

@Ol_Jas Frankly, I don't know. I have read it on the site of the bottler. I hope it is true.confused

I mean I hope it is true that the bottler does not split casks with other bottles.

@Ol_Jas Next time I will not copy information from a web site the way I did. I guess I am a little naive.

Yep, this day belongs in the Connosr annals! Though I gotta say, I kinda miss the old "real" picture already. It's not too often you know what your fellow online whisky buddies actually look like. (And I know I'm guilty of that too.)

@Nozinan Good whisky evokes the beast in me. On the other hand the beast could be a teddy bear as well.

No problem, "Beast." :) Copying info from the sellers is the norm around here.

I actually meant, in a roundabout way, to unpack what the seller (not you) meant by word "exclusive" anyway. As far as I can tell, half the time it means nothing, and half the time it's a fancy-pants word for something that is actually a negative: one party has something that nobody else is allowed to have. The word is so overused in the world today that most of us have forgotten what it means.

Sure, something "exclusive" might be an advantage to the party offering it, but what good does it do to those of us buying it? Unless you're the kind of person who revels in having something that other people don't, wouldn't you prefer that everyone get to drink that great whisky you're enjoying? (This is not directed at @NamBeist. :) )

(And yes, I'm always the word nerd who pokes at such things. To all those who don't share the same interest, feel free to ignore me!)

@Ol_Jas You are probably right. I just liked the whisky and I got a little carried away by the sales pitch of the seller on his site. I cannot help feeling the seller is reliable. Anyway, I just like the whisky very much.
