In 2016 Glenturret released a second batch of its three NAS expressions Triple Wood, Sherry Cask and Peated, but this time around at a slightly higher ABV, i.e. 43%. Well, let's give those a go then.

The nose is creamy and sweet on breakfast cereals, vanilla and Pink Lady apples, but also shows some stale aleā€¦ After a few moments a hint of marzipan kicks in, making up for things.

On the palate it is very creamy as well, almost syrupy. Now I get loads of wood spices. Think pepper, ginger and some nutmeg. The marzipan returns, as does the vanilla. Some milk chocolate. Sweet butter.

The finish is spicy and very sweet.

Clearly an entry level malt and a bit too sweet to my taste.
