Has Anyone Tried This?

I tend to be out in my garage doing work quite a bit. I recently bought an ice chest to put some bottled water and soft drinks in it. I wondered one day what would my whiskey taste like if I put a bottle on ice. I find the taste of my iced whiskey quite refreshing. I don't feel as if I need to add water. It also seems to enhance the whisky's flavors, if that is possible. What do you all think??

I've never tried myself, but I imagine the the dram would get more refreshing...anyway, the flavours will probably become more "closed" and difficult to distinguish...

It may work for a simple whisky, which would be more refreshing and would also loose some of its roughness. But this "filter" will have a detrimental effect on mature, complex whisky.

By the way, The Snow Grouse (a grain whisky) was specifically meant to be served chilled (-8°C)
