Hey everyone will be heading to japan in a couple weeks and was looking for a few suggestions.
1) I heard essentially most yamazaki and hibiki aged statements are gone and i dont have too much experience with the other smaller brands. I dont mind peat but do not want it to be overpowering so hoping for a few suggestions. Would like to grab something either not found in the US or something difficult to find.
2) Also due to above heard may be better to go for scotches or bourbon made for japanese market. How would i know which ones these are?
3) any suggestions for bars and or whisky shops. For the whisky shops do they have anything like a la maison du whisky in paris where they get their own special bottling?
Trying to keep budget under 1k for bottle/bottles but would be willing to go over depending on how good it is
Distilleries that i enjoy: glendronach, aberlour, balvenie, lagavulin, mortlach, high west, bookers.
