Well guys, as the title says, I did it! After reading every single review available on the net I ordered my bottle of Port Ellen, the 26 yo single cask bottled by Old Bothwell! Next 28th of June is goinf to be my 26th birthday, is there a better way to celebrate???

@lucadanna1985 I'd be interested in reading about what other choices were available and that you considered and how you went about making the decision to buy the Port Ellen 26 SC. The process is likely a story all its own and one that will serve you well over a dram of the PE26 yo.

@lucadanna1985

@HP12 well the choices were the excellent (but very expensive) annual official releases plus a crowd of independent bottlings, some of which got average scores by well respected reviewers (and I wanted a very good Port Ellen)...some days ago I found this bottle fairly priced on TWE and started my inquiries, and after having seen that both Serge Valentin and our Ruben ( @whiskynotes ) rated it in the 90s I decided...at that point I saw it was 26 yo, I remembered I was getting 26 next June and that 100 pounds literally flew away from my credit card, but I ordered it directly at the Old Bothwell Company website...

Good on you.. and a good idea to do that when you are young enough. At 48 the offerings get few and far between..

@Andrew ahah, I'd better buy some bottle and a cask to allow them to mature further then!
