This whisky is literally a week shy of being 20 years, as it was distilled on 18th September 1995 and bottled on the 11th September 2015. Quite pale, this is taken from a cask in the Signatory warehouses. They seem to have an unlimited stock of Imperial, as they have bottled dozens of casks from 1995 with the numbers 50XXX. So this bottling is from the same stock.

Grain cookies and butterscotch on the nose, but also lemongrass and lime lemonade. Something that reminds me of pastry. Buttercups? Vanilla, buckets of it. Not very complex, but quite pleasant.

It is creamy on the palate. Peach and banana on steroid, again a truckload of vanilla and soft spices like white pepper and some nutmeg. A touch zesty. Some flints and mint. Fresh and lively.

The medium long finish offers some late quinine and tannins.

An aperitif style whisky with cajones.
