Importance of Place in Scotch

@JeffC Yes, interesting. A continuation of the debate between artists and scientists. Is one right? Maybe better asked, is one wrong?

Science is based on facts. I've yet to see the scientists offer a solid body of evidence to prove their claim. Their "I'm right" arguments seem based on supposition and opinion, not scientific at all but almost artistic.

I tend to fall for the artists' passion. Their creativity makes their stories more interesting to read and in general makes their whiskies more interesting to drink.
