With the increases in whisky and bourbon pricing, how are you dealing with this? Are you buying less? Are you buying cheaper bottles of whisky/bourbon? Are you switching to different types of liquor? Just how selective have you become?

Buying less, looking at less expensive options like rum, Canadian whisky, etc., digging into my existing stock a bit more.

I’ve got a pretty good stash at my house, and in at least one other location so I don’t need to purchase that often. I’ve also been getting far more into rum these days.

To be honest the prices have not had much of an effect on my purchasing, because of other factors.

The main barrier to purchases going forward for me will be storage space.

If that were not the case, then I suppose the prices would give me pause.

Either way, I am pretty sure I could make it through a decade long whisky shortage and keep my friends sipping good stuff as well.

I'm also well enough stocked to last a long time. I'm more concerned with the way gas prices are going up. Cost me $91 to fill up my gas guzzling Toyota 4Runner yesterday. That's a pretty decent bottle of whisky right there. worried

@BlueNote You need a vehicle that will run on whisky fumes.

@BlueNote Ethanol (fuel) prices are going up too, and depend a lot on the harvest.

You should invest in an electric vehicle. Site C will give you cheap electricity to run it, plus I understand that soon self driving technology will mean it can go and run all your errands while you stay home and enjoy your whisky...

@Nozinan Now that Mr. Musk is promising batteries with a range of almost 1000km and a lifespan of 1 million miles, I might be tempted.

Site C is a subject I would prefer to avoid except to say that it should have been stopped three and a half years ago. angry
