A young grain bottled in the ‘Rare Old Grain’ series. Where's the logic in that? It is a sister cask from the Invergordon 2009 from the same bottler in their Octave series. This one was also bottled for the Dutch liquor shop Drankenshop Bams. This one is a lot darker.

Wonderfully sweet on a truck load of chocolate, something umami like roast beef and the obligatory maple syrup, figs and dates.

Good body and good strength. Immediately fruity on a marmalade of figs, lovely spiciness in the guise of cloves and a bit of nutmeg. The chocolate returns and dominates and I think it works like a charm.

Only in the finish does the wood start to talk and do I get some mildly drying tannins.

Well, well, this is something completely different than the Octave release, mind you. This one is very pleasant. A liquid dessert with balls. You can still buy it at Bams for only 46 euro. Recommended! Thank you, Benny.
