Yellowstone is an odd one out. Named after the national park, this is actually a blend of different Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskies, bottled in Lebanon (Kentucky, obviously) by the Limestone Branch Distillery. The four bourbons in the mix are all between 4 and 7 years old, with a little more rye than usual and bottled at 93 Proof. There actually is a distillery, founded in 2010. Their Yellowstone Select appeared on the market in 2015, but was distilled elsewhere. Their own product has not yet been bottled.

Honeysweet nose on caramel and vanilla, with squashed banana and brown sugar. Some black gummi bears and liquorice.

I would not have minded a little more body. On the palate it is mostly about caramel, joined by some oak, roasted nuts (mostly peanuts) and a hint of sugared orange peel.

In the medium long finish, the oak becomes a bit more spicy.

All in all, this is just a very ordinary bourbon. Nothing special. Yet in the States, you’ll have to cough up around 53 dollars for this blend, which seems a bit expensive.
