Bottle from Master of Malt.

Colour is a nice clear bright reddish/light brown. Oily but looks light in the glass.

Nose is big, hot and complex. Can't get my nose right in the glass. Little too strong. Back off a bit and there's some really nice stuff going on. Caramel, muscovado sugars, grape, vinous notes all rolling in at the front. Muscovado sugars and caramels are deep and rich. Toffee. Banana and Banoffi Pie. Lots of sweetness. Candy sugar, floral, palma violets, cherry wood, little tobacco. Few sniffs later and there's some red berry fruit. Strawberry, banana again, cherry. This keeps giving. Have been sitting here 15 mins just enjoying the aroma. Cut plant stems. Wood coming through now.

Okay, let's taste this. At the front there's a lot of alcohol, but it doesn't burn. Softens down to spices, caramels, muscovado sugars, tobacco, wood, sour cherry, cigar ash. A lot of spice. Flavours a little more muted than the nose, and harder to get past the alcohol. Harder to pick out. Dark fruits. Raisin, fruit cake. Wood coming through at the end.

Finish lingers, some tobacco and wood char, caramel.
