I am interested in forming a scotch group for socializing and tasting fine scotches. Here are some of the scotches that interest me: Glenfarclas 15, Glenfarclas 40, Aberlour 18, Ardbeg Galileo, Highland Park 25, Laphroaig 15, Caol Ila 18, Talisker 18, Macallan 18, Springbank 12 year cask strength. These are just a few.
It would be nice to get together and socialize over some quality scotches once a month. If we gathered around four or five members to start with, then it would be no stretch to buy, say, one good bottle per meeting.
It would make sense for one or more of us to be from Vancouver Washington, across the river. Why? Because it is perfectly legal to ship whisky from Scotland to Washington State, but not from Scotland to Oregon. If we had a member or two from across the river then we could order from online sites that will ship otherwise unavailable whisky. The OLCC is very strict about shipments to Oregon, so we can't get really great and reasonably priced bottles like the Glenfarclas 15 even as a special order from a liquor store.
