Is it common knowledge or simply just pseudo intellectual inter-regional jargon?
I am not sure if it is my basic lack of detective skills or the fact that I had simply never come across this before but I recently realized there is more differences between whisky and whiskey besides the obvious spelling.
Whiskey refers to whiskeys distilled in Ireland and the United States, while whisky is generally used for whiskies distilled in Scotland, Wales, Canada, Japan and other countries.
Short and sweet but maybe this happens to be a newly discovered fact for more persons than just myself.
What are your thoughts on this? Please comment if you have more information to add to this, I think this is a very intriguing topic.
