There is currently a new distillery being built near Falkirk, which might be considered to be the resurrection of sorts of Rosebank (they did not succeed in getting the name from Diageo, though). But Falkirk Distillery is far from operational, so we have to make due with the lost glory. This 10 Year Old was bottled by Signatory as a Millennium Edition in 2000.

The nose starts rather closed, but after a bit of patience the typical citrus emerges. Lime, grapefruit, lemon juice. Fresh. Very grainy. Reminds me of the mash. The crust of a freshly baked Brown bread. Hint of toffe and a little oak.

It is very light on the palate, with lemon juice again, sugared lime peel, limoncello. Goes down like lemonade. Very soft and sweet. Mild spices.

The finish is rather short and sweet, with a pinch of salt (where this that come from?) at the death.

A good little aperitif. A nice way to start your evening. Thanks, Teun, for the sample.
