@Davy.I think the Shackleton might be hard to get now as it was a limited bottling of 50,000 for the whole world--expensive too, but very good. I tried to save mine longer, but it was too good not to drink and before I knew it it was gone. There is apparently a second edition of 100,000 bottles called The Journey. Have not seen it here in Vancouver yet, but the advance reviews I have seen are not any where near as good as for the original version. I understand it is cheaper though. Any idea what other Arctic and Antarctic explorers liked to drink? I think Shackleton had Vat 69 on one of his expeditions. BTW, did you see the film about Shackleton's first expedition with Kenneth Branagh? If you can get it, it's excellent and shows the kind of guts and loyalty to his men this guy had. Good luck with the search and the party.

Clarification: Kenneth Branagh was not with Shackleton"s expedition (obviously) But played him in the film. Sorry friends, I know you are all smart enough to have figured that out. Doh!

Check with Roof Brothers in Paducah KY (Main St. Location). They had it in stock as of 2 months ago. Ask for Kane. He is their whisky and beer guy.

@Davy My admiral (wife) was able to get this whisky for christmas, she got it from e-bay before they shut down the alcohol purchasing/shipping. That said I would have to second @cowfish The Whisky Exchange would be awesome resource for you. The Shackleton whisky is worth everything your going to pay. I'm a student of history and I feel a certain connection with the Antarctic explorer when I sample this whisky. :)

Hi everyone,
In addition to being a budding whisky enthusiast, I'm also a great lover of anything related to Antarctica. Mackinlay's Rare Old Highland Malt, popularly known as Shackleton's whisky, is therefore a dream come true for me. As it happens, I have a bachelor party coming up and I'd like to purchase a bottle to commemorate the occasion. Unfortunately, I live in Athens, Georgia. I've not been able to find the item in stores, and due to the laws in this state, I'm unable to have it shipped to me from an online retailer.
Have any of you run into this problem before? Is there a solution? What can I do to get a bottle of this beautiful stuff in my hands by mid-February, short of driving halfway across the country to buy it in person?! (At this point, I'd be willing to drive a significant distance, so if you know where to find a bottle, please let me know!)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
