Laphroaig SMWS 29.102 "Cowboys campfire dram"

This SMWS Laphroaig was distilled March 1998 and Aged for 13 years in a Refill Sherry Butt, sounds just perfect, right?

Nose: fruity, with some blood oranges, leather, medicinal stuff (wet bandages galore, and Iodine) , also nice sherry with dates and dried

figs, as well as dark olives. sugar (burnt) a lot of wood smoke, and some smoked fish, not sure which kind. but it’s there. lovely lovely.

Palate: peppery, smoky entry, then some sherry goodness with a lot of those dried fruit, leather, demerara sugar, espresso bitterness, chocolate dipped in chilly. then another wave of smoke.

Finish: Smoke, coffee, chocolate and burnt sugar.

lovely in any way. well done sherried laphraoig I am a happy cowboy now.
