@numen Glad to hear - I have one on order! But just to nitpick, isn't it a 12 year old?

@talexander, nope! It's 13 years on the label. The label images that they had on the site in March also had different ABV numbers than the actual bottle labels do.

@talexander, and the 8775 from 1981 is now labeled as 31 years old. The extra time in process seems to have put them to another full year from initial label.

@numen Wow...that is so weird. Are you sure it didn't age another year due to radiation poisoning? ;-) OK that was a totally offensive joke...

Before leaving the bar, the bartender thought I should try a glass of Angels Envy (Port finish). Wow! That was awesome. Going to have to pick up a bottle of that! Loved it!

Traveling out of state for several weeks for a construction project. So I brought along a few 17's for company - Old Pulteney 17, an old bottling of Bowmore 17, and a Jeffersons Presidential Reserve 17. That should give me enough variety for 6 weeks or so. Last night I broke into the Jeffersons. Very nice bourbon. Reminds me of the Eagle Rare 17. It is very rich, very smooth, very little wood presence. I like this more than the last taste of Pappy 20yo that I had.

I tried Blue Hanger (7th Ed.), Miyagikyo 12, and Coffey Grain Whiskey last night at a whisky and sushi pairing. Great whisky, great food, and great company make for a great night.

Noah's Mill Kentucky Bourbon. Powerful and vibrant, and very tasty! Love this stuff!

Wiser's Legacy Magnificent! Inaugural release L10 270 from a friends cabinet. This has been open for more than two years. It is every bit as good as any Canadian I have EVER tasted.

Yep, @paddockjudge I am d'accord with you on that! My affection for Wiser's Legacy has never lessened. I still have an unopened bottle of the 2010 release myself.
In my further decanting, I am now drinking some Ardbeg Galileo.

3 years ago tonight, my wife and I were at the SMWS members room in Edinburgh. One of the drams we had that night was a 29 year Glenrothes (SMWS 30.61). Tonight, we are sharing a dram of 30.61 reliving the memory and dreaming about going back.

@bwmccoy, congratulations and happy memories! There is nothing quite like good whisky times with your sweetie!

Thanks @Victor - you are so right. All our best to you and Dramlette!
After the Glenrothes, moved on to Springbank 12 year Cask Strength and finishing up with Talisker Port Ruighe.

@bwmccoy always back to the springbank 12 YO CS? I am gaining more and more respect for that dram. I found it "ok" when I cracked it in 2013 but now it's something i would go to more often. I'll have to replace the bottle at some point...

Just got done with Whisky Live Brisbane with Systemdown! Glenlivet cracked their 25 yr old for us, which runs at around 500 AUS a bottle and quite possibly is worth it. Was so awesome to finally meet a Connosr friend from another part of the country in person!

@Nozinan - glad to hear that you are enjoying your CS12. I'm having a hard time figuring this one out. I know some of this depends on what I've had to eat or drink prior, but sometimes I get wonderful black liquorice on the nose and palate, which I like. Other times, I get a rubbery quality (bicycle tire tube) that I do not like. I also have a bottle of Springbank 18 that was purchased at the same time. Before the CS12 is completely gone, I plan to open the 18 for a side-by-side taste comparison.

Instead of grilling out on the back deck. Home after my now Pirate Admiral/Wife's laser eye surgery with some Glengoyne 10yr old. This one is very interesting and hard to get a handle on. :)

Bruichladdich Links "The Old Course, St. Andrews - 17th Hole", followed by 13 year Bunnahabhain Port Wood Finish (Murray McDavid Bottling) and finishing up with Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 9 year (SMWS 127.26 - "Student Party Aftermath").
Have a great weekend everybody!

@teebone673 IMHO the Nectar D'or is 1 of the best 'after dinner', or 'dessert scotch' that you could find.

Jack Weibers Classic Of Islay which is basically a young cask strength sherry matured Lagavulin. A really good quality sherry and peat combo, great value for money at £35 - simple but effective.

Today it's some more of that Glengoyne 10yr old. This is an wonderful dram. I highly recommend this one for an anytime. :)

Tonight, mead. From B Nektar Meadery, Necromangocon, a mango and black pepper flavored mead. The black pepper is sharp and striking against the sweet mango. Next up, cherry chipotle.
