@bwmccoy - Congratulations New Parents!
Absolutely, the most enjoyable parts of my life are attributable to my children. Raising a glass in honor of this momentous occasion - two of my favorites: Alberta Premium 25 yr-old and Macallan Cask Strength

Opened a single cask 22 year old Littlemill tonight. Some very nice apple tartness about it and really opens up with a splash of water. My first ever Littlemill, glad I got a chance to try it.

After all the back and forth with @Pandemonium, I decided to sit down with a small dram of Bladnoch 11 YO Sheery matured. Thanks Raymond!

@paddockjudge @Nozinan @JayRain - Thank you for your congratulations and well wishes. My wife and I have been blessed with a healthy, beautiful boy. We couldn't be more happy and proud. Thanks again to each of you.
@paddockjudge - Thank you for the toast. While I haven't had the pleasure of trying Alberta Premium 25 year old, Macallan CS is one of my all time favorites.

I have @paddockjudge to thank for being able to, eventually, try both of those drams. And when I do, I'll toast your family's happiness.

Aberlour a'Bunadh #45: Lovely 'drop' but not much left. 'Had a small measure but it was so good went back for another; about 1 good size measure left...never mind, I may snag a bottle somewhere other than my usual haunts where there are lots of batch #46, (which has rather mixed reviews). The British Isles and Europe have #47 which has all excellent reviews with no negatives whatsoever. I hope some comes this way.
Slainte!

@A'bunadhman
I haven't been back to the 45 since I opened it the day after I turned 45. I still have a third of 36 open as well. I would love to pick up another 44 or 45 if I could find one, but it doesn't seem available. I have a 46 and 47 for the next birthdays. I, as you say, the 47 is getting really good reviews, I may need to pick up a spare. I go through 1.5-2 bottles of A'Bunadh per year (not on my own) so my available supply will slowly deplete if I only buy one per birthday, even if my total inventory goes up.

Friends came by for dinner and we chose to open the Auchentoshan Virgin Oak and the Balvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask.
At first blush, was put off by the nose of the Auchentoshan and felt something was off in the taste as well - will give it another try in a week or so but we all agreed to put it away.
As the three of us are lovers of the Portwood 21, we nicely made our way through half a bottle and finished w a couple of sips of the High West Campfire (it truly has the smoky campfire taste)
Life is amazing

Danfield's 21YO Soon to be discontinued at LCBO, it's a pity. Hopefully this will be a temporary measure...just in case, it wouldn't hurt to pick up a six pack of this ginger-cinnamon-pepper-toffee-oak bomb.

@paddockjudge If you get a chance to grab me a bottle...I'd be much obliged! Looking to take a Sudbury trip with Maggie over the summer!

@talexander - your bottle of Danfield's 21 is secure - waiting for your arrival.

@bwmccoy - we'll have to address the scarcity of Alberta Premium 25 YO in your neighborhood.

Visiting Family in the UK, Opened a bottle of Springbank 15 last night with my brother in law, lovely whisky, trying to figure out how many I can bring back with me.

Had a smidgen of both the Tullibardine Sovereign, and 225...Was impressed with both...Very nice, easy going, and flavorful single malts.
Sovereign reminds me of a 'softer' Ancnoc 12 yr, and the 225 is similar to the Glenmorangie Nectar'dor (although a bit softer as well).

@Lars Make sure that you don't get so enamoured with the Springbank that you forget the Tali 18. Hope you and yours have a GR8 trip. Nice that you have relatives in the UK to share drams. Jonesz

Glenmorangie 'Quinta Ruban': It is balanced, delicious and incredibly moreish! Found a 50ml. sample of Port Wood finish behind a couple of decanters; it's been there for 5+ yrs. So, did a head to head and it was quite wonderful but the Q/R was a clear winner - Both excellent but the cleanliness and silky mouth-feel of the Q/R together with exquisite balance, delicious cherry and raisin flavors and astounding long finish put a smile on our faces (the two usual suspects): This is a very good Whisky, indeed!
3 drops of Pure Rain in 2oz. of Q/R (46%) - 2 drops Of Rain in 2oz. of P/W (43%)...Perfect!

@Paddockjudge, I can only purchase the Springbank 10 in Manitoba, tried it, bit of a disappointment esp at the price, read reviews that the 15 was better than the 18. Had to open it to find out, lovely stuff I think a couple of bottle are coming back although running out of packing room. @Jonesz Tali 18 2 bottles have already been added to the collection, also picked up a bottle of Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve. As you know there is no Japanese whisky for sale in Manitoba so I thought what the heck. @Victor Kinda of funny that there are there and I am here but he was never really a favorite of mine but I like his stance on Putin however. Queen Mum was more my type of royal. ;D
Well off to the pub for the afternoon to seewhat I can find.

Hello All. I'm new to the forum and wet behind the ears with regards to quality Whisk(e)y. Drinking Clynelish 14. What a nose on this and spectacular taste. Too bad for the short finish. Great stuff.

@Malt-Nuisance
Welcome Malt-Nuisance. I was a fan of the Clynelish 14 from the Hart Brothers as I nice offset to some of the stronger peated flavors.
Bought the first edition Clynelish 14 to do a comparison one day - if I recall, higher ABV so should taste a difference

Triple Overtime - Alberta vs Quebec in Memorial Cup semi-final. Danfield's 21YO (Alberta) and Gibson's Rare 18 YO (Quebec)....I was ready for this one to go all night long:-)

Finally bought some Auchentoshan 12, it's a classic I know, but the tasting notes of the whiskies produced by this distillery never encouraged me to buy some

Enjoying a couple of recent releases - Balvenie 15 Sherry Cask (delightful), and Ardbeg Auriverdes (good, but underwhelming). Don't take that the wrong way. The Ardbeg is good, but not as pleasing to me as Ardbog or Alligator. I won't be buying another. The Balvenie on the other hand...I've already purchased 2 more. Home run.

@Victor Nice. Been dying to try a Black Art. But so many conflicting reviews. So, have you had other versions? I respect your opinions and will try to hunt one of these down.
