Tamdhu (Gaelic for 'dark little hill') was closed recently as the Edrington Group decided to focus more on Highland Park, Glenrothes and The Macallan. It used to be a pretty modern distillery, actually. Much of the production goes into blends such as Dunhill, Cutty Sark, J&B and The Famous Grouse. I'm not very fond of the recent bottlings such as their NAS or 18 Year Old, but the older bottlings (example the 10 Year Old from the '80s) are very nice indeed. I have a three reviews online here for your perusal.

What do folks of Tamdhu, and Tamdhu 10 year in particular?
I understand the distillery has been closed once again.
I've found this malt a little odd, but I don't want to say more until I hear from others.
