Sure there are some pretty or unusual bottles. For some it is the design of the label or the shape. It may rotate or rock.

For me the best looking bottle is the one that I can see is full of one of my favourite whiskies...

@JPwhiskysteve Hibiki is a nice choice, it would be my choice for the best feminin bottle category. I have two that I like a lot the Willett Pot Still Reserve bottle in a pot still shape and the A'Bunadh for its apothecary bottle shape as the best masculine bottle.

To summarize

Best feminine bottle. Hibiki

Best masculine bottle. A'Bunadh

Most original bottle Willett Pot Still Reserve

@JPwhiskysteve I suppose you were talking about regular release. For me, the Macallan Lalique Coll. is out of the contest as all other special edition tat are not for common mortal like me.

There is one common release I did forget though, it's the Blanton. I think it is a crowd pleaser as it is original and neither feminine or masculine although I am not sure about the little horse on the cap. Nevertheless, I would create a new category for it.

Best all around bottle. Blanton's Original

I like the Old Pulteney bottles. And like @Nozinan, I like them best when they are full.

@Robert99 It's true that Blanton's is an "all round bottle".

@Nozinan Most bottles, view from the top, are "all round bottles" but I guess you are right since word play is not my "sphere" of competence.

The revised Tamdhu 10 bottle is lovely in an art deco kind of way. I agree the Blanton's bottles are nice. I have Hibiki 12 aand 17 and always liked those bottles.

Also, any black Octomore bottle catches my eye, although this is probably a result of adoring what's inside.

I too like my Hibiki bottle and still have it even though it is sadly empty, Also like the medicinal look to my Nikka WFTB bottle (almost like a lab specimen and nicely boxed and labelled). Aberlour A'bunadh bottle is my experiment bottle (love the wide neck and am able to get stuff like oak staves in without too much problem). As Julie Andrews sings, "these are a few of favorite things".

@JPwhiskysteve I just realise you may have not refered to hand painted Hibiki bottle but to the cut glass decanter instead. This last one is not feminine at all and is indeed very beautiful. It is probably no 1 in the decanter category. So good call!

Picking ONE best looking bottle is like picking ONE favourite whisky. One could, but why would you want to?

I like all of those bottles already mentioned, and would have mentioned Octomore if @Frost had not. In addition I like the etched glass style of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection whiskeys, the Wiser's Legacy and Wiser's 18 yo bottles, Lagavulin DE bottles, the Elijah Craig 18-23 yo SB bottles, the original (NOT current) Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve bottle, and the Sazerac Rye ("Baby Saz") bottle. And nothing looks cooler to me than the picture of old Julian Van Winkle smoking that big cigar on the Pappy Van Winkle labels. (The contrast in colours is better on the 15 yo label than it is on the 20 yo label. The effect is also quite good on the label for the 23 yo.)

@Jonesz. Forget Julie Andrews, you want the John Coltrane version of My Favorite Things. Much better whisky drinking music. ;-) I agree, the A'Bunadh bottle is a good looker and also has a nice heft.

The bottles Diageo uses are just perfect and classy and classic in my book: Lagavulin, Caol Ila, Talisker & Oban especially.

@Robert99,

Wiser's Legacy is the most masculine bottle to ever hold whisky. The only way it could be more manly is if the label was changed to "New Zealand All Blacks". Broad square shoulders, thick neck, straight back, and a sturdy base which can't be tipped. We may agree on many things, but this time it is a stand-off....by the way, I do like the Aberlour bottles.

I do not know if I would call it the best looking bottle, but I have always found the Dimple Pinch bottles quite curious.

@Paddockjudge I will concede to you that Wiser's Legacy is probably the most manly bottle. I was simply stating that among all manly bottles the one I prefer is Aberlour A'Bunadh. I will also add that any bottle with a picture of the New Zealand All Blacks doing their Haka would be without contest the most manly bottle. Even if it would not be it, who would dare to say the opposite?

@Robert99 good call! I accidentally disliked your post sorry. I feel pretty much nothing comes within range of Hibiki especially if it's one of the limited bottles. Stunning, stunning in every way.

I'm not so fond of decanter looking bottles. I like classic shaped one like Lagavulin. I do appreciate though, a nice label that may or may not be unorthodox. I really like the Adelphi bottles with the small label at the base of the bottle. Also, Aberlour's bottled look great.short and stubby

I quite like my Edradour Ibisco decanter bottle and also the Signatory cask strength edition bottles are good and chunky . Diageo's classic malts are all very nice. I also like the bottles used by High West they have an old world look about them. The bottle that's impressed me most straight out of the box though has been the Hibiki. It's the only bottle i've had which I thought was too good to put in the bin.

It wouldn't be so bad if those grapefruits on her chest were in any way natural. If it was a whisky made by Dow Chemicals it might make sense.
