The Whisky Photo Thread

One of the many things I enjoy about whisky is the appearance of the bottle - from the shape and colour of the bottle itself to the design and information on the label. I also like taking photos, so I tend to photograph my new arrivals.

I'm hoping I'm not the only one, and further to that I'm hoping others who have taken some crisp, interesting, etc photos of their whisky bottles, collections, pours, or local watering hole collections. And I'm hoping you'll share them here so we can all check them out.

This messageboard doesn't appear to be terribly photo-savvy but links to photos ought to do the trick.

My most recent purchase: Glenfarclas 15 year. This stuff has pretty much blown me away, so good!

Talisker Distiller's Edition. I love it, the Talisker character is still there but wearing a thick sherry coat.

And something a little different - a very rare, elusive but excellent (rated best in the world by some groups) Belgian Quadrupel - Westvleteren 12

Please, join me! I want to check out your goods! Erm.. I want to see your whisky bottles.

Cool, I have been known to take some booze photos.

That Westvleteren had a limited release last December in the states for merely $85 a six pack.

@lostboyscout Great photos, I have also been known to attempt taking some arty photos every now and then! I also just got a snazzy new DSLR camera so i'm sure some cool shots will follow!

@FMichael Agreed! It's actually kind of how I ended up with my first bottle. It was before I knew anything about the distillery or whether people liked the stuff.

@lostboyscout btw - how's that Balvenie Golden Cask?

Is it similar in any way to the 14 yr Caribbean Cask?

@lostboyscout Hey there great idea with this thread. I like a nice looking bottle too but don't have the photo skills+equipment. But maybe I will go for some quick shots with the small cam ;)

Looking forward to see more of those great pics by you guys!

@FMichael I haven't tried the Caribbean Cask, I'd be curious though - they sound basically the same on paper, so I would think they'd have similar notes, but whisky never works that way does it.
