@OdysseusUnbound @Nozinan's got more sherry than Spain. But he has to wait until his 100th birthday before he can crack A'Bunadh Batch 100.

@Nozinan How else can anyone possibly tolerate that awful Canadian whisky? And I mean, a 35 Year Old Wiser’s? Is that even safe to drink? Isn’t it mouldy? I’m going to have to use LOTS of ginger ale (President’s Choice, none of that fancy Schweppes or Canada Dry) when I open that one.

@Rantavahti Wiser’s offers very good wood management. The 18 is a rich corn whisky with more deeper notes than Century Ninety 20, for example. Personally, I would go for Dissertation or Last Barrell if they are available. If you can find a Legacy, it is a must and a best for the buck buy and one that is not available anymore. Our expert in residence is @paddockjudge , I encourage you to contact him.

I'm terms of highland distilleries Balblair I would suppose are underrated. Bottled at 46%, NCF, natural colour and sensibly priced.
I opened my 00 vintage 2nd edition last night which is 17/18 years old and cost me under £70. It is a bit early to post a review yet as I've only has one glass from it. But my initial impression is that it's superb.

@RianC quite fruity. Plums, baked apples that kind of thing and a bit of dried fruits too. Similar in some ways to Arran, but with a bit of a kind of savoury, heathery dry note too. No peat. Quite complex. I poured a glass and left if for an hour before I had my first taste and it was still changing as I was drinking it. I get the distinct impression that this will change in the bottle over time. You can tell it's well made stuff from the first sip.

Glentauchers - even the owners don't bottle a single malt version of it - they just keep blending it away. Thing is, I've recently tried a number of Single Malt IBs from G&M and Cadenhead and found them to be incredibly good.

@Mackstine I had a G&M Glentauchers 1994-2014 that had so much oak I swear it gave me splinters! I'd be keen to try another some day though
