I live in in Brossard Quebec, (right across the bridge from Montreal) and we have reached temperatures of minus 40 degrees celsius this week. Lagavulin 16 is my drink of choice to start this weekend. For those of you who have tried it, you know that it has a full bodied warming effect that will comfort the soul.

What is your whiskey of choice to end "your" week?

Hard to say. Something open. I generally pick a "theme" for the night, sherry, peat monster, bourbon, what have you. These colder nights, I have been hitting the bourbon quite a bit. Whatever it is, it is something I have been looking forward to all week. Tonight, it is peat.

Its generally some peaty whisky. After a hard week i usually go with Lagavulin 16,Talisker 10 or some Laphroaig.Im from quebec too and im really bored of this cold temps,so i pour myself a glass of whisky everytime i need to feel the heat!

I also live in Quebec (charlevoix) and the temperature was near -50 a few times with the wind chill. I've been sampling the Talisker 10 almost every night next to the woodstove in the last few days.

I myself enjoy opening that new bottle that has waited its turn in my ever growing whisky lounge. Tonight I am going for Dalmore Castle Leod 1995... I own two ,so let the wait end and weekend begin!

I have a little (about 6 oz.) of a'bunadh #19! What a great way to end the week; 3x2 oz. drams - It's as good as the day it was opened but alas it's days are numberd.

@ewhiskey Minus 40... jesus!! Hearing that REALY makes me glad that I'm in Japan... And REALY makes me think twice about going back home!!

To end this week, I will be going back to the Bushmills 10 yo I bought last week. It's 7 degrees here in Nagoya so the Bushmills will be just fine!

Lagavulin 16 is a fine choice but id say something peated, cask streangth like an ardbeg uigeadail. Especially here in Sweden at this season, perhaps id choose something closer to a sherried glendronach if it was summer.

@ewhiskey Funny thing this week it's been real cold here in Michigan so I've been having my Mackinlay's Shackleton whisky. If it was good enough for him it will get me through as well. :)
