What is your preferred pre-desert island dram?

In follow-up to a mini-discussion initiated by @NamBeist and @Bluenote on a review thread, imagine you were going off somewhere where you would have no access to alcohol for a month (hypothetically...).

What would be your final hurrah? Your last taste of whisky before you go?

As I was last year, I am inspired by @Bluenote to take some time off alcohol to focus on other enjoyment for a month starting tomorrow. But today I'm having a few friends over to catch up and share a few drams. Here is the line-up I've prepared. No telling what my friends may bring:

Happy New Year!

@Nozinan, I have the suggestion for you, personally. If you were to force down two leisurely drams of Lambertus 10 yo Single Grain whisky you might well be able to go for 30 days and not want to drink anything whatsoever.

Your penultimate dram(s) would be the good one(s).

A respectable lineup. I hope you'll have a pleasant evening to send you off into abstinence. Which batch of A'bunadh is it?

I'll restate my choices here: Compass Box Flaming Heart Anniversary Edition and Ardbeg Corryvrekkan or Uigeadail, and if I had a Talisker 18 I'd have to have that too.

Nice little lineup there @Nozinan. Tomorrow we begin: no booze, no junk food, no regrets for the rest of the month. Well, not sure about the no regrets bit, but we'll be the better for it if we can stay the course. Good luck, Doc.

@Alexsweden It was batch 47. Only 8 months after I turned 47 but still in the same birth year...

@BlueNote Well I'll go along with the no booze part, but can't speak to the rest.

I've been doing a lot of reading the last few months and 1-2 times a week with a dram in my hand. For the next month I hope to read on the treadmill instead.

I will be following along on Connosr (some things I just can't give up) and in February I hope to write up a few of the new drams I tried at my last epic tasting: Lag 8, Longrow Burgundy, Talisker 57 N, plus a few others I need to get to.

Happy 2017 everyone!
