@dougwatts Score!

I haven't seen any reviews on the latest batches of A'Bunadh. I wonder how it is holding up to its former greatness these days.

@sengjc Nice grab. Glendronach is one of my favorite distillery. I will look forward for your review in order to enjoy vicariously a Scotch that is more than probably out of my budget range.

@dougwatts "massively sherried" is right. They look like bottles of dark rum.

Not sure myself @BlueNote, I can only hope. This is my fourth A'bunadh but first since batch 42 so it has been a while. I'll let you know when I get around to cracking it.

@dougwatts was 42 good? As a Hitchhiker fan I bought 2 but gave one to the guy who beat me in the last election (42nd parliament). He said it was good but since we disagree on policy...

Just “bought” an Ardbeg Ten. I returned my terrible, fizzy, vinegary Glenfarclas 12 to the LCBO and paid an extra $20 to upgrade to a big boy whisky. I regret nothing.....except the two god-awful drams from the Glenfarclas.

@BlueNote Except he likes port cask matured Scotch so and I like him so I really wanted to give him something symbolic AND good.

@BlueNote good, we can swap Bladnoch drams for Ardbeg 10 drams in the future.

@OdysseusUnbound Did you know Ardbeg 10 is just $82 at an EXPENSIVE store in Calgary? Given RCLS has the oogy for sale at a regular price of $83, I would expect it would be even less expensive than that there...

@OdysseusUnbound If my job could be replicated in Calgary and i could overcome the minor challenge that my moyther would kill me if i took away her two favourite grandchildren, I'd be there in a flash...

NDP Government too!

@Nozinan Come to BC. We have beaches, mountains, forests, NDP government and really expensive Scotch. Bring your Mum, she'd love it here.

@BlueNote I love Vancouver. Great Beef and Pork Jerky. Better selection than KGBO. But my mom won't come out there and leave the other 2 grandchildren.

@Nozinan Batch 42 was definitely very good but I didn't make any notes. I polished that one off in January 2015. I've also had batch 28 and 29 but couldn't offer any comment to differentiate between any of them. I've heard people talk about differences between batches but I've certainly never had a bad one myself.

@dougwatts I've heard the batch 28 was legendary. I found one by accident in Nova Scotia in 2011.

Not a purchase, but a trade. 1 of my 2 spare Bowmore DC III's for this GD CS 4. Had a sample and found it to be fantastic so I had to make the trade.

@Astroke Nice snag. I have only one DC III but I wish I were in a position to trade them away...

@Nozinan well there is bottlespot, someone in Ottawa was selling DC III's for $300. Seems to be the asking price. A trade offer may net you something more desirable.I personally like the DC III but I like the Dronach CS more.

@Astroke I've only had either once (well, maybe twice for the DC3 - a sample I reviewed) I was lucky to get mine (DC3) at the original inflated LCBO price. I have tried GD CS 2 once and have an unopened bottle. One of these days...

@Astroke, I had a bottle of well traded DC III, it now resides in Montreal on the north shore. Originally it came my way in exchange for a bottle of Nikka Taketsuru 17 YO Pure Malt that I had offered to a Connosr friend of mine. A short time after that trade was completed, I received word from another Connosr friend informing me that he had found a bottle of Macallan Cask Strength at an SAQ store and picked it up with me in mind. The loop was closed. I had a bottle of my favourite Cask Strength Single Malt and DC III had another new home.
