Many years ago, like many people before me, I had my first whisky in England with cheap distilled bottles from pubs, adding masses of coke. Only once I ventured North to Scotland did I discover there was such a range of flavours, textures, aromas, that add to an an overall pleasure that is, tasting whisky. And once here I discovered there are more distilleries, and bottles that I could ever taste in the lifetime. But I had to make a start....
