Laphroaig 10yr for $42. Anyone who shops in Australia knows this is a good price for the local pricing. Only a $5 above most blends.

@SquidgyAsh just noticed your post now!

The local Liquorland was clearing out some stock for shelf space. Not a place I normally shop, was passing through to the supermarket ;)

@SquidgyAsh I went by the store and unfortunately the Laphroaig 10yr is gone. The manager was on duty and he informed me the few they had went quick.

Not so much a steal, but def a very good deal...A local grocery store has been out of the Balvenie 15 yr Single barrel for several months...Have inquired if they'll re-stock (knowing that Balvenie is going to discontinue this single malt).

Long story short - had to stop to pick up some groceries, and went to check out if there was anything new, and low, and behold - 5 bottles of the Single Barrel (bottled in February 2014) still listed at $60 (most sell it now for $80 plus).

Nabbed 3 of them, and thinking about buying up the other 2 as well.

@Nozinan Yeah - was shocked myself to see it in stock to start off with, and to have kept it at $60 really made me happy!

Just found a 750mL bottle of Oban 14 at the Cardinal in Joliet for $50 (after an unexpected $6 discount). It typically is priced at $75 in the Chicago area.

While my previous supply of the Balvenie 15 yr Single Barrel pricing has jumped from $60 to $90 in the last week or so - I was happy to find a local super market still selling their HP 12 yr for $40.

In the past year the HP 12 yr pricing had jumped to $50 to $55...I picked up a bottle, but I'm thinking of going back, and picking up the last 2 on the shelf as well.

Adelphi's Liddesdale 21 Y.O (batch 6) for £74 in Norway. The 18 YO Liddesdale is sold for £97. No clue what they're doing, but you won't hear me complain about it.

CAD 73 (tax included) for Macallan cask strength... Found in a small independent liquor store in Calgary.

Here's the irony. The big chain was selling it for $93 and had 2 in stock.....my "agent" snapped them up.

Then we saw this other place ( Alberta has a website called liquorconnect.com which tracks where bottles are shipped within a given period of time - not whether it is still in stock). I called and they had 9! Agent went over right away and bought 8. Thankfully he was able to return the 2 bought at a higher price.

So 2 for me, and 6 for a friend, IF I can bring them back before September. Still thinking about getting the last one. The owner thinks he's getting more in, but is that possible?

I got a bottle of Highland Park 15 for 59.99 dollars. ( Sorry, my dollar sign on my laptop don't work). That's a good deal considering that any Liquor store that I go to the price range for that fine malt goes for around 72.00 to 77.00 dollars

A new small-time liquor store by me is selling Tomatin 18 for $38. That is so underpriced that I'm tempted to pick one up—but really, what do I want with a Tomatin 18? I barely like sherried whiskies and I disliked the 12 last time I tasted it.

And yet, I'm thinking of buying this Tomatin 18.

This Tomatin 18 that I'm barely interested in, intrinsically.

Such is the power of a perceived "deal." I just need to keep giving myself BS-deflating arguments that I give my wife when she buys some garbage that she thinks is a good deal because the seller claims that it's marked down from X to Y.

Wouldn't I rather have that $38 to cover most of the cost of a bottle of Ardbeg Ten? Yes. Yes, I would. OK, I've convinced myself not to buy the Tomatin.

At the very same grocery store that has the HP 12 yr for $41 - they also have the Macallan 12 yr Sherry Oak gift set (a 50 ml sample of the 18 yr is included) for $49.

I really like it - so much in fact that I'll be stopping by there within the next few days to buy up the remaining 2 gift packs.

Islay Mist 8 yo. I knew I liked it from a prior taste with @Nock. Sort of a 'Laphroaig Light'. $ 17.95 on sale for $ 14.99...with a $ 5.00 rebate coupon. Total cost $ 16.34 paid - $ 5.00 rebate + .49 stamp = $ 11.83.

This has to be the least I have ever paid for a bottle of Scotch. (since the 1980s, anyway...)

@OlJas Nice to see a fellow 'Cheesehead'.

I saw the Tomatin 18 yr this past week as well...If I remember correctly it was at the Woodman's in Sun Prairie just a bit north of Madison.

They were asking $60 or roughly that amount (give or take $5).

The guy at the store where they sold for $73 dollars said he would get more in, so I'd rather pay that price. I will ask my brother in law to pick up the last bottle if it's still there. I doubt he'll be getting more in...

Thing is, I know it's a great price for what the bottle is worth now. But it's not better than a Bladnoch, which was cheaper when available, or A'Bunadh, which is still available and at a similar price in Calgary...
