Benromach Cask Strength 2002

This was the end of our Benromach Tasting and it was a good way to end, full strength, no nonsense lets see what Benromach is all about

• Nose: really sweet, vanilla, heather honey, slightly creamy. With Water honey, big BIG vanilla, also some floral tones emerging, some fruit and a kind of sawdust note.

• Pallet: citrus notes really come out, some toffee, a bit hot but not too much nip, touch of smoke as well. With Water more citrus and toffee, floral notes come out again, really nice full bodied mouth feel, some nut and malt and a good hit of spices.

• Finish: honey, spirit really clings to the mouth. With Water smoke emerges much later with water, orange citrus, and some tingly spice.

• Mark neat – 8.3, with water – 8.7

Definatley the best Benromach of the night, im not sure if they are entirely my style, but in this whisky i think more experimentation is definatley in order.
