What bottle are you considering your greatest pride in your cabinet? I am very proud of my Highland Park Earl Haakon. A very special bottle which is also quite rare.

Has to be my Mackillop Dalmore 1986 23 Year old Single Cask #3098. I am saving this bottle for a special occasion. One reason I bought it is that it is made in the year of my birth.

@Mammon For me any Bruichladdich Octomore that I come across is my Biggest pride. I will always charish any one I can get my hands on. I have been fortunate in my whisky life to have two and both lived up to the hype and the price. God save Bruichladdich. :)

George T Stagg...for its scarcity up here (and everywhere) and its connection to a great friend just outside of Washington DC who introduced me to the world of good American Whisky.

I am a novice but picked up a bottle of Brora Rare Malts 20 Year 1982 about 5 years ago for a great price. Only problem is that I did not get 2 so don't know when I will ever open it!

@PMessinger I just received the message that my four bottles of Octomore 10 Year old arrived. I will go and fetch them on saturday. This is probably the best Octomore I ve ever tasted.

@msudukie There is a bottle of that Brora at my local whisky bar. I've had the fortune of sampling a couple drams and it is fine, fine whisky. Makes me so obliviously happy when I'm sipping on it. I'm envious you have it in you collection.

The bottle I'm most proud of is a Duncan Taylor 25-year-old Brora from 1981. Found it at a liquor store in Austin Texas, and scooped it up for $160.

I've got quite a few whiskies that I'm very proud of aqquiring, but if I had to narrow it down to just one or two, I'd have to go with my 21 yr old cask strength Rosebank that my brother bought me for my birthday and a Douglas Laing Old and Rare cask strength 30 yr old Port Ellen. However my Old Pulteney 21 yr old from last year and my Buffalo Trace Antique Collection all make me smile as well.

Ardbeg Airigh Nam Beist. I bought a bottle for around 90 dollars a few years ago because it was the last one in the shop.

One day when there are none left in any normal person's price range, I shall open it and drink it in celebration of something wonderful!

@Mammon Batch #4 in a duty free shop. I still haven't tasted it, I'm almost afraid that it won't live up to the hype. Since it's a mix of 24-46 year old casks it's by far the oldest Scotch I'll have tasted.

I'll sit down and try it this weekend though and compare it with the 21. I'll try and write a review too.

@Mammon Thank you! That duty free shop has done wonders for my Balvenie Knowledge. The 21 was 110$ VS 260$ in Montreal and the Tun 1401 was paid 175$ while I haven't seen it anywhere else under 280$. I'd say those are good deals!

Maybe some day I'll get my hands on the legendary Broras, Port Ellens and Rosebanks.

Glenfarclas Christmas Casks 2010 edition. Vintage 1996. Got it while visiting Germany last year. It cost more than it's probably worth (the EUR-USD rate was at a high at the time) but it's nice to have something that may compare to the Glenfarclas 15 that's not available in the USA.

Mine is a Bladnoch 23 y.o. by Rare Malts, a really divine nectar!! But also the CadenHead's Lochside 23 y.o., it seems "Anima Nera", an Italian liquorice liquor and the Glenturret 34 y.o. by Master of Malt.

Feel lucky to have just purchased two bottles of Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch #3. I had looked around almost everywhere and could only find the Batch #6. The price was high but figured I either bought them or just wouldn't get the Batch #3. Felt great about the purchase and then I somehow came across a place in NYC that has two bottles for significantly less than I just paid. I know I shouldn't be a bit annoyed but I hate overpaying even for great whisky. This ever happen with anyone or should I just be happy I have two great bottles?

@SquidgyAsh Great way to think about it. I feel much better having paid more than I would have if I never had the chance to open a bottle. I can't wait to open it. Thanks.

@MrWhiskyPants No. I live in Vancouver Canada which is a bit of a wasteland for scotch aficionados . Really limited selection, and when you find more interesting bottles you pay out the ying yang for them. I was in Austin earlier this year when I found that Brora.

@Chookster Haven't had the Tun, but if it's anything like the other Balvenie's I've had it would probably fit well with the Northern Hempisphere weather of whisky, nice and sherry :D But like I said I havent got a chance to try it yet. Between the Ardbeg and the Yoichi, go Yoichi. It'll go nice in winter! For sheer awesome complexity and feel good feelings go Yoichi. Truth be told though neither of them is the fruiter / lighter kind of style that Aussie summers seem to require, but the Yoichi definitely had the Christmas feel to it for me.

Btw so jealous you scored a bottle of it! I REALLY want a bottle of it :D
