This 25 years old Laddie was selected by the Dutch importer Bresser & Timmer. No less than 240 bottles of this stuff went to my northerly neighbors.

Ooh, yes, this is a very good nose. Kiwi skins, pears, peach and a hint of mashed banana with light brown sugar. Some nuts and a mild note of woodsmoke. Wonderful.

Good body, mildly oily and spicy. White pepper and baker’s spices that put a prickling layer on a basket full of citrus fruit (think mandarin and grapefruit). The a bitterness as if from grape pith follows. Surprisingly mineral as well, as if I have pebbles in my mouth.

The finish is nicely long and offers mostly yellow fruit, followed by some leather. It leaves the mouth fairly dry, but that’s not a problem.

Very characterful Laddie that survived its 25 years in the cask with grace.
