This is a very pale Clynelish. Obviously a bourbon cask, bottled by the Meadowside Blending Company and marketed under the Maltman label. It was distilled in May 1998 and bottled after 13 years, in August 2011. No coloring or chill filtration.

The waxy nose is dominated by honey, lime peel, pears and unripe plums. A very small pinch of pepper and some celery salt. Very approachable. A small amount of vanilla and caramel. Some smoke in the background. Appealing.

It is slightly creamy at the onset, heavily spiced and warming. Citrus and honey take a head started, spices and aromas from the sea are lagging behind. It gets pretty smoky, when swirled around in the mouth.

The finish is medium long, remains smoky and focuses on honey.

The is a very quaffable, good, no nonsense Clynelish. Around 50 EUR. Maltman has a couple of other whiskies out there as well.
