Nose: Crystallized fruit, honey, lemon, vanilla, and that typical Clynelish waxiness. Obviously in a good place. Creamy frosting, bounded by some wood. Lemon cream pie with some vanilla whipped cream. Slightly vinuous, too, on German white. Really delicious even if a touch linear. (with water) Water flattens out the nose somewhat. More wood and candied lemons, and light wax. Very clean.
Palate: Wow, this thing is punchy. Extremely vivid. It sort of explodes and is above it's abv at this point (even as we near the 60% mark). Honey, delicious wood, and vanilla. Lemon zest. Fizzy. Chili. Ginger. Banana, mango, and pineapple hidden away as well. Delicious. (with water) About the same, but the wood is just a touch out of balance now. Still pretty damn feisty.
Finish: I liked this a lot and think that it's a very good one. The palate is surprising, the nose has some verve, but nothing prepares you for the punchiness. Delish, and a decent variation of the standard Clynelish profile.

I believe that this is from the Rattray 1/2 bottles that came out last year (maybe early this year). I enjoyed this one immensely. You make me want to try it again soon!
