Clynelish 1996 / 20 Year Old / Signatory

It's been a while since my last review. Time to break the silence.

I've had the Clynelish OB 14 yo. A well made whisky, that I enjoyed. Looking at the new entries I came across this gem, a 20 yo Clynelish IB for only € 60,-. I can't let that one go.

What does it say on the bottle? Clynelish 1996 Signatory Vintage, Aged 20 years, Distilled on 11-12-1996 Bottled on 13-03-2017, Matured in Refill Butt, Cask No 11381 Bottle No 513 ABV 46% Natural Color No chill-filtration. All wonderful stuff!

Nose: candle wax, butter, green apples, oak, vanilla, the alcohol doesn't interfere with the nose.

Taste: candle wax, butter, vanilla, peach, green apples and other green fruit, hint of peat, salt & pepper, thick.

Finish: long lingering, warming, dry, salt, vanilla fading away.

I really like this one, priced only € 60,- it's a steal of a deal. Get it while you can!
