Continuing my Bladnoch tastings notes (from a very old bottle share, I don’t even remember when it took place). This Cragganmore was distilled on the 8th March 1991 and aged for 19 years in a single hogshead before bottling on the 12th July 2010, by the Bladnoch Forum, as a release of 281 bottles. Until now I’ve not been overwhelmed by the quality of those bottling and I sure do hope this one will stand out…

Cragganmore 19 Year Old 1991 , 53.80%ABV , £55. Nose: Sharp entry on the nose with some alcohol bite, then vanilla ,dough apples and malt. We continue with sweeter and lovely tones of banana peel and cereal. all in all it’s like eating my cereal with banana and whisky sprinkled on it. Nice! Palate : Grassy up front. Then getting sweeter with malt honey coconut and Peppery tang. Vanilla and nuts. Good. But not outstanding. Finish : Malt, vanilla and a drying on wood.

A nice single cask, not mind boggling, but certainly better then the others I’ve tasted so far (besides the Inchgower). A solid dram, at a good price.
