Only a few months ago I tried sister cask #395 which I dubbed Christmas Dram. Thanks to a friend in Budapest, Hungary, I was able to secure a sample of cask #354 that was bottled just a month prior to this one.

Sister cask indeed, so it comes as no surprise that this one reminds me of Christmas as well. Christmas cake, walnuts, chocolate… the works. Again a delicious nose, let’s keep this one for second Christmas Day or – as the English speaking folks so eloquently put it – Boxing Day.

I think this one is just a tad better on the palate. Next to some bittersweet marmalade of blood oranges and candied sugar, I also get fresh fig and candied ginger. Quite good!

The finish is feisty on nutmeg, candied ginger and even cloves, which not only makes it last long, but also supports the fruitiness until the death.

This is one to put on the table on 26th December, then. Delicious. Thank you, András.
