Edradour is the smallest distillery of Shottland, as far as I know only three people are working there. But those people produce really interesting malts. One of them is the Eilean Dubh "The Dark One", a malt matured in a Sherry cask. It is delivered in cask strength in nice little bottles of 500 ml.

The nose of "The Dark One" shows fine notes of raisins and sherry, together with white chocolate. It's sweet and flatters the nose. So it's astonishing how intense the body is. It's very warm, a little bitterly, and the alcohol is very pervasive. But it's ok so.

The palate of the Edradour Eilean Dubh "The Dark One" is once again warm and long lasting. It contains notes of chocolate and a little pepper. Altogether this malt is nice daily closing, together with a good dark chocolate or some cheese.
