I've had his bottle open for two months now. I picked up this bottle after I purchased for the second time The Famous Grouse 18, which in my opinion, is one of the best "bang for the buck" whiskies out there. Too bad they are both discontinued. For those who may or may not know, The Famous Grouse 12 is a combo of The Macallan 12 and Highland Park 12, among others.

Nose: Fresh apples, solid butter scotch, vanilla, subtle sherry, caramel, oak, gently sweet smoke.

Palate: Big apple, probably the most apple I've tasted in any whisky. Good sweet sultanas, confectioners sugar, and then transforms to butter scotch.

Finish: More butter scotch, vanilla and good ole' Highland Park sweet smoke.

When first opened, it was all, I mean, ALL butter scotch. The nose was butter scotch, the palate was butter scotch. And really, nothing else. Now after two months it's settled and become more balance. This reminds me very much of JW Green Label with a bit bit of Old Pulteney. Not bad, not bad at all.
