@OdysseusUnbound, oh I know. I've bought dozens of bottles at at least 6 or 8 LCBO stores. I've done lots of shopping at the LCBO and usually tour every LCBO in every dinky little Ontario town I come across. But I don't usually buy Scotch in Ontario, unless it's Glenfarclas 15 or Aberlour 10 which I can't get at home. I buy Canadian whisky at the LCBO. And my sister buys stuff like Serbian Slivovitz and brandy. There is some Scotch I buy in Ontario, though, and that is at the Travel Retail stores at the border crossings. I see that the LCBO still sells 700 ml of Talisker 57 Degrees North for Can$ 175. I bought 3 Litre bottles of 57 Degrees North for Can$ 67 each on one trip, and 2 Litre bottles of 57 North for Can$ 100 each on another.

@OdysseusUnbound, and best of all, when my sister and I crossed the border back into the US with 20 bottles of whisky, we told the guy and were not asked for a penny in duty.
US border customs people really don't care about alcohol unless they think that you are going commercial.

In Europe I would recommend these fairly priced good whiskies: * Isle of Skye 8 € 22,- (blended Islands/Speyside) * Highland Park 12 € 28,- * Deanston 12 € 35,- * Benromach 10 € 39,- * Glenmorangie 12 Quinta Ruban € 39,-
