This is a Pedro Ximinez matured cask at 10 years old.
Nose: banana skins, floury, raspberry jelly, pineapple some hazelnut chocolate really light sulphur notes and some rum also a sort of new book aroma. With water similar but the fruit notes are more candied leading me to think of cognac rather than rum and the floury note has picked up.
Pallet: buttery, tobacco, tea, dried fruit, chocolate and a kind of gritty earth feel. With water Ferrero Rochers (hazelnut and praline chocolates), buttery again and a slight earthy flavour (as opposed to feel)
Finish: the book aroma from the nose is a flavour on the finish, sherried oranges, some smoke and confected fruit. With water more noticeable smoke, confected fruit and spices.
Mark neat – 8.2, with water 8.7.
This isnt the best of 'Dronach's single casks, but at 87/100 its pretty bloddy good
