Nose: Oh my. Toffee, caramel, fudge, and a few trace notes of sherry and red fruit wafting in the middle. Rich and powerful, this is satisfying. A little like syrup and thick treacle-honey syrup. Demerara rum, vanilla, and there's an interesting grassy note. You get the idea. More burned fruity spice cake.
Palate: Very nice, just a bit linear. Very quickly to coffee, and then more subtle notes of fudge, honey, and burned molasses. Surprisingly light on the tongue and not quite the monster that the nose suggested.
Finish: More of teh same, along with some fine toasted coffee, pinch of salt, and fig shavings. It's really excellent and the nose is top notch. The palate could have used a bit more depth and complexity
