Glenlivet 1996/2007 Milano Festival 2007

This Glenlivet is a single cask bottling (cask no 906679) by James MacArthur, that was selected especially for the Whisky Festival Milano (Italy) in 2007. It was distilled in September 1996 and bottled in September 2007 at the age of 11.

It has a very sweet nose with white fruit, but the vanilla steals the show. Not very complex, but very creamy and soft.

The taste is sweet (pear and a bit of citrus), but it does have a bitter lining. Some grain and caramel, but not much else. Rather one-dimensional.

The finish makes up for that, because it's wonderfully long and feisty.
